Electric Heating FAQs

Are electric radiators expensive to run?

Whilst the cost per unit of electricity is indeed more than that of gas, this does not tell the whole story. Installation of gas central heating is an involved and expensive process; with electric radiators, it is a simple case of connecting to the nearest available power and mounting the radiator on the wall. Our expert installers can install most full house radiator systems within a single day. Maintenance is an important cost to factor in, the average boiler lasts around 15 years, provided it is well maintained which is costly in itself. Our electric radiators on the other hand are built to last 40 years, this is due to their solid-state nature; there are no moving parts to let you down, nor any servicing required. Energy Efficiency - gas may be cheap, but traditional heating systems are full of opportunities for heat loss, causing energy to be wasted. As the heated water travels through your pipes it is constantly radiating away that precious heat energy that is intended to warm your rooms. Our energy efficient electric radiators on the other hand are 100% efficient, with all the energy directly heating your rooms, minimising energy usage and home heating energy bills.

Where can an electric radiator be used?

We have electric radiators suitable for any space; no matter the size of the room or mounting location. With a range of powers available, our electric radiators can be tailored, ensuring they are energy efficient and provide the perfect temperature in any room no matter how big or small. You can have a fully electric heating system. Looking to fit an electric radiator in a tight wall space? When it comes to radiator size we have a wide range of lengths and heights available, including low profile radiators. In addition to our standard wall mounted radiators, we offer portable radiators. Our electric radiators can be installed throughout the home; living room, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen. They’re also ideal for extensions, outbuildings and conservatories as there is no gas supply required. If you currently have a less efficient heating solution in place; such as storage heaters, panel heaters, convector heaters or oil filled radiators - it’s a simple switch to our UK engineered and manufactured clay core radiators. If you don’t currently have power in your desired location, our trusted installers are all registered and insured electricians will be happy to install your radiators electric supply.

Why switch to electric radiators?

There are numerous advantages that electric radiators have over a traditional gas or oil central heating system. First and foremost is the reliability. Our radiators are solid-state, meaning they have no moving parts to go wrong, a bonus of this is that they are silent too. No more rattling pipes or noisy boiler first thing in the morning! Another benefit to reliability is that there is no single point of failure; with a traditional system, if your boiler fails, you have no heat throughout the entire house. With an electric radiator system, each room is independent, meaning no chance of total system failure and also increased control; being able to adjust or even switch off radiators individually. An electric radiator also provides a more accurate way to heat your home. With each radiator having its own onboard computer, each one will adjust it's output individually, maintaining your set room temperature to within 0.5 degrees Celsius. You’ll also be future-proofing your home against the phasing out of fossil fuels, and as mains electricity gets greener, helping the planet too! If designer radiators are your thing, our radiator range is highly customizable with a range of colours and styles.
